Vietnam has been struck by two super typhoons, Typhoon Bualoi and Typhoon Matmo, within just one week since late September 2025. The storms have unleashed torrential rain, landslides, and powerful winds, causing severe flooding, widespread destruction, and loss of lives across multiple provinces in the north of Vietnam.
On 9 October 2025, Vietnam issued an urgent appeal to the international community for emergency assistance with flood and storm relief efforts. In response, the Australian Government announced a humanitarian aid package worth up to AUD 3 million to support Vietnam on 14 October 2025.
In the spirit of solidarity and compassion, VASEA – Vietnam-Australia Scholars & Experts Association and ASIF – Australasia Social Impact Foundation, an Australian DGR charity registered with the ACNC, is launching the “Love-to-Love” 2025 donation campaign to support communities on their recovery journey after the recent typhoons and floods.

The ASIF Foundation will provide matching contributions of $1 for every $1 donated, up to $50,000, and VASEA will cover transaction fees. All donations will be issued with receipts and are tax-deductible in accordance with Australian Tax Office regulations.All donations, including matching funds from the ASIF Foundation, will be transferred directly to the Vietnam Fatherland Front (Mặt trận Tổ quốc Việt Nam), an official Vietnamese government agency responsible for coordinating appeals, donations, and overseas community programs, through the Embassy of Vietnam in Australia. The funds will also be reported to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, under the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for oversight and monitoring.
