Strengthening the Vietnam–Australia Knowledge Bridge for Sustainable Prosperity

The Vietnam–Australia Scholars and Experts Association (VASEA) successfully convened its 2025 Annual General Meeting at The University of Queensland, bringing together representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy, strategic advisors, and scholars and professionals from across Australia.

Key highlights included:

– Presentation of the 2025 Annual Report, marking major milestones such as the establishment of the VASEA South Australia Chapter, continued expansion of activities across major Australian states, and strengthening strategic partnerships with leading universities, the National Innovation Center (NIC), Australian Alumni Business Network in Vietnam (AABN) in Vietnam.

– A major highlight was Australia – Vietnam TechFest 2025 in Sydney, which marked the official launch of VietNEST, an AI-enabled Vietnamese language learning ecosystem designed for Vietnamese children in Australia. The Techfest also attracted the participation of AI technology companies, digital agritech companies, and others.

– Remarks by Mr. Bui Viet Khoi, Counselor, Head of Science and Technology, Vietnam Embassy in Australia, highlighted the vital role of Vietnamese scholars and experts in Australia in contributing knowledge and practical experiences to facilitate international cooperation.

– Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam and Senior Advisor to VASEA, offered insightful perspectives on the future of Vietnam–Australia collaboration in science and technology, education, and innovation.

– Strategic discussions shaping VASEA’s priorities for 2026

– A Recognition & Appreciation Ceremony honoring outstanding members

The AGM concluded with a warm cultural and community exchange, featuring a children’s art exhibition, a charity art auction supporting flood-affected communities in Vietnam, and cultural performances celebrating Vietnamese heritage.

The VASEA AGM 2025 was not only an event marking the close of a year filled with significant milestones, but also a strong reaffirmation of the role of Vietam-Australia Scholars and Experts Association (VASEA) as a bridge of knowledge between Vietnam and Australia, where science, technology, and culture come together in pursuit of sustainable development.
