On August 3, 2025, the Vietnam–Australia Scholars and Experts Association (VASEA) had the privilege of meeting with a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Vice Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong, in Melbourne, Victoria.

The meeting brought together Vietnamese experts and scholars working at leading universities such as the University of Melbourne, Monash, Deakin, and Swinburne, alongside representatives from major Australian corporations. Their expertise spans a range of strategic fields: International education & training; Green construction & building materials ; Transport engineering; Artificial intelligence & computer science ; Information systems & data analytics ; Medical technology ; Geriatrics & aged care ; Aviation safety.

The experts shared their contributions to government agencies in Vietnam and emphasised the need for long-term policies to encourage and enable Vietnamese professionals in Australia to participate in impactful projects that benefit both countries.

Vice Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong highly valued the contributions, highlighting the crucial role of overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, and encouraged the continued development of practical and actionable proposals.

VASEA also proposed hosting a Vietnam–Australia Forum to strengthen information exchange between Vietnam and the business and academic communities in Australia—an initiative that received strong support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This marks an important step forward in fostering scientific, technological, educational, and innovation cooperation between Vietnam and Australia.
