A/ Prof Lien Duong – VASEA Vice President of ESG and Sustainability and Prof. Tuan Ngo – VASEA Vice President, Science and Technology Transfer together with A/ Prof. Sonny Pham successfully organised and delivered a study mission on energy transition and digital transformation for senior leaders from Vietnam at the Deputy Minister and Provincial People’s Committee Chairman level. Held from 25 August to 1 September 2024 in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, this study mission highlighted the comprehensive strategic partnership between our two nations Australia and Vietnam.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Hon. Tim Watts MP (Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, DFAT), Ms. Michelle Chan (Deputy Secretary of the South and Southeast Asia Group, DFAT), Ms. Robyn Mudie (First Assistant Secretary, Southeast Asia Regional and Mainland Division, DFAT), Professor Michael Wesley (DVC Global at the University of Melbourne), and Professor Linley Lord (Associate DVC Global at Curtin University).
This global partnership is essential for collaboratively addressing global challenges together. The success of this mission, generously funded the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and expertly administered by the Vietnam Australia Centre, was made possible by the outstanding support from the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Victorian and federal government agencies, and our key industry partners.
