Dr. Lien Duong, Vice President of VASEA, was invited to participate in the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum (HEF) held from 13 to 17 September 2023, organised by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The forum’s primary focus was “Green Growth – Towards Net Zero”, drawing in numerous distinguished delegates, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, leaders from government ministries, foreign diplomatic and consular representatives, international financial institutions, and renowned organisations such as the World Economic Forum.
During the event, Dr. Duong presented on Australia’s experiences in promoting green development within the Australian energy sector. Additionally, she engaged in discussions with Dr. Truong Minh Huy Vu, Deputy General Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies (HIDS), and its staff, exploring potential collaborative opportunities in the fields of carbon markets and renewable energy initiatives. Dr. Duong also had the opportunity to visit the Tan Thuan Industrial Park, where she observed firsthand the implementation of green growth strategies within the industrial park’s operations.
