As 2023 draws to a close, the Board would like to send our best wishes to all VASEA members and their families. May the New Year bring you and your family good health, happiness, and success in both your personal and professional endeavour.

2023 has been a pivotal year for VASEA. At the governance level, VASEA has formally incorporated as an organisation with all recognitions and responsibilities recognised and governed by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission. On 10 August 2023, VASEA was formally introduced to the public with an official launch ceremony. Over 120 members and guests have attended the launch event in Melbourne in person, many of them were traveling interstate. Many more also joined the event via an online platform from Vietnam, Japan, Europe and other parts of the world. At the launch, VASEA have received congratulatory messages and encouragement notes from government officials from both Australia and Vietnam.

2023 has also been a very active year for many of VASEA members. VASEA members have held several off-line events in both Australia and Vietnam. In May, VASEA co-organised the AVEG workshop in Sydney to promote economic cooperation between two provinces in Vietnam (Bac Lieu and Nam Ha) and their counterparts in Australia. In June, VASEA and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam co-organised the “Road to decarbonisation workshop” in Hanoi. From June to December, VASEA hosted several high-ranking delegations visiting Australia including MOET, Agribank, Hau Giang Province, Lang Son Province, Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. There have also been many regular online events including a monthly webinar series that have been very well received by VASEA members and our community.

In reflecting on our work over the last 12 months, it is essential to recognise unwavering commitment from the Board of Directors, support from member, and also very importantly, generous financial support from VASEA sponsors. VASEA wishes to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our sponsors:
